To set up your Square credentials you must first have a Square account and then log in to the developer portal here. Select the plus sign to begin a New Application, enter a unique app name, skip the following two screens, and then follow along with the video.
Note - if at any time you need assistance please reach out to us at service@indieme.com. Do not call Square, they are unfamiliar with IndieMe and the setup of your checkout system.
On the following page name your application. We recommend something distinct like IndieMe and include the Month and Year. Naming it this way tells you who the application is for and the month you created it. Open the new app you just created and select Production mode.
Next, Click the Red - Replace Token button and confirm. After you have done those two things while keeping your Square account open, open a new browser window for IndieMe and navigate to Artist>Manage My Store>Payment Setup.
Here you will want to copy and paste the Application Id and Production Access Token on the IndieMe Screen. Then navigate to Locations on the left panel and copy/paste the Location ID into the field on IndieMe.
IMPORTANT: For the Access token be sure to select Show and then copy and paste. You do not want to copy a series of dots as that will cause the connection to fail.
Click Save.
Then navigate to Locations on the left panel and copy/paste the Location ID into the field on IndieMe. Click Save.
Sandbox Mode
To process payments you will need to be in Production Mode. Verify you are not in Sandbox Mode by reviewing your credentials - if the word Sandbox is included you will need to move over to Production Mode. To move over, log into your Square account and click the Application that you set up for IndieMe, near the top of the screen you will see a tab labeled Production Mode. Select that tab.
